Rebirth in Bloom

The Bonds That Remain

Today, I’m in Canada with the kids, visiting extended family. As I watch them playing games, sharing snacks, and running around with their cousins, I’m reminded of the quiet beauty of connection. It’s the kind of memory I hope they’ll carry with them into adulthood—the laughter, the familiarity, the feeling of belonging.

Life has a way of shifting, and relationships sometimes change shape. But there are bonds that don’t disappear just because life looks different. Over 20 years, I’ve built connections that have become part of my life story, and I value the role they’ve played.

I think back to lessons I’ve seen in my own family—how staying connected to people who brought joy, love, and support can be a choice grounded in kindness and gratitude. It’s not about the labels we use; it’s about the memories, the care, and the respect we hold for the time shared.

As I step closer to 40, I find myself seeing these moments through a different lens. Family isn’t always defined by structure; sometimes it’s defined by the love that remains steady, even in seasons of change. And that is a gift I’ll always appreciate—for me, and for my children. ❤️
