Rebirth in Bloom

A Letter to Myself, on the Closing of Two Decades

Since completing 40DaysTo40, I gave myself permission to step back into silence. To breathe. To sit with all that journey stirred in me. The reflections unearthed both wounds and wisdom, and I needed space to let them settle.

Ireland called me in that pause—a land of mystics and storytellers, of shamrocks and Celtic knots reminding me of the eternal cycles of life, death, and rebirth. I marked that passage with a special trinity tattoo: a symbol of the witch in me, a woman in total control of herself. Like the lotus that blooms through mud, I emerged with new life energy.

And now, I return. Renewed. Rooted. Ready.

Hi 20 & 30 year Davena,

You beautiful girl. Look at you—look at all that you’ve carried, all that you’ve created, all that you’ve survived. Over these past two decades you poured your whole heart into love, into family, into your dreams. You birthed two radiant children. You grieved the quiet loss of two souls who visited only for a moment. You built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and lessons. You earned your bachelor’s and master’s in organic chemistry. You taught and are teaching a new generation. You honored your soul’s journey with devotion, even when it cracked you open.

Today, with the ink dried on a divorce, you close a chapter. But hear me clearly: this is not the end of your story—it is the turning of a page. You let go with grace. You heal with compassion. You are not diminished. You are being reborn.

And how fitting that this closing falls in the season of Vijayadashami—the celebration of Durga’s victory, the reminder that Shakti is not meekness, it is power. Every scar you carry has sharpened into wisdom. Every time you stood when your voice shook, you embodied the goddess. This is your own Vijayadashami. Burn down the illusions of “less than.” Step into your rightful space.

You are the sword, not the shadow.
You are the roar, not the whisper.
You are the Durga of your own life.

So rise, Davena. Rise as Shakti. Roar as Durga.

And as you rise, so does the dream you’ve been nurturing—LotiBloom. Like the lotus that emerges from mud, it carries your story of resilience and renewal. It is not just a brand, but a living reflection of your becoming: beauty born of struggle, strength rooted in softness, bloom after bloom, season after season.

Love always,
40-year-old Davena
